Standard TF-VI.B.

Standard: Apply technology resources to enable and empower learners with diverse backgrounds, characteristics, and abilities.

The article demonstrates how I have analyzed the vocal joystick in conjunction with the students disability and lack of physical movement.

In the assistive technology course, the article “Vocal Joystick” is a resource educators can use when selecting a technology for a student who is unable to use their limbs. I really enjoyed learning about this technology because it can benefit disabled students as well as students who are injured (broken bone, etc.). The device is extremely functional and the hardware does not require many extras. It’s ease of use is superb. There are a few studies to go along with this technology and they raise questions on which style of voice-based cursors is best.
