Standard: Manage student learning activities in a technology-enhanced environment.
I used the Save the Bay newsletter/template as a strategy for students to use in learning the Chesapeake Bay as well as Microsoft Word.
During the curricular applications course, templates were discussed to give educators the structure needed to conduct technology enhanced lessons. Templates provide the students with a sense of direction in creating works through technology. The teacher is then free to roam the class and provide feedback without having to worry about troubleshooting. During the class, I created a template for a newsletter using a Microsoft office program, word. I continued to design the newsletter while focusing on the saving the Chesapeake Bay. For the newsletter template to be successful, the students must be creative and descriptive in their choice of newsletter.
