Standard: Model and teach legal and ethical practice related to technology use.
During a professional development session, I had the teachers analyze technology issues (ethical and legal) in developing the schools acceptable use policy.
During the role of technology specialist course, ethical practice of technology was a major point discussed. One of the requirements of the class was to create an acceptable use policy for my elementary school. The acceptable use policy delivers guidelines for students, staff and parents to follow. As a technology educator, it is extremely important for all parties to understand that technology must be used in educational format and not for personal entertainment.
